Lately, I’ve been writing a lot of poetry. Since I posted a silly poem recently, I figured I could post a more serious and dramatic one this time.
We were never destined
for a galaxy together
voices meant for different keys
we rode the tides of separate seas
My seat lies in the back row
of the theatre that’s your life
so I watch it all move
always wishing I could choose
to join
To follow
you to some land faraway—
our own little world where forever we’d stay
yet this world’s as unreal
as a never ending day
so I’m trapped in some story that never started
I look around as if in some down-hearted
haze while blues haunt my gaze
and I count the days
that we’ve been away
and I watch your stars
as they fade into grey
